Today we went to the five points location of the prima vera foundation to serve dinner to homeless people who are working their way towards independence with 20 hour a week or more jobs. Today we again went to Five Points Homeless Shelter. It was again very very cool, but verry very different from last time. I arrived at about 5:15 to the smiling faces of three people I had never met before who wanted to help! Mark, Nikita, and Ipek showed up at around 5:00 to help. I wish I had more things for them to help me with, but they gladly opened up all my cans to pour into the tortilla soup, and then we talked about life. The Refugee Ministry Meeting was awesome! Tim is a wonderful public speaker and he looked quite sharp as well I must say. However, that did not distract from the incredibly interesting and important information that he and Cherie shared at this meeting. From what I understood, more than 200 Refugee families came to Tucson last year, and of those 200 families only 36 were taken in by a church or caring group. Today we went and served a meal to the five points location of the prima vera foundation. The location consists of about 28 homeless people who currently hold jobs working 25 hours or more. I arrived at about 5:15. It is a very cool looking place, it actually looks like an apartment complex.
